Storm Shelter Registration Comes to Little Axe FD PDF Print E-mail

The Little Axe Fire Department has revamped our storm shelter registration system. This is strictly voluntary on your part but could be very helpful to rescuers in the event of a disaster within our response area. This can be very important as these sites are often unknown to rescuers. During situations such as a tornado it is possible that you may find yourself unable to leave your shelter due to debris that has landed on the entry/exit door. By registering your shelter with the fire department, you insure that your location will be checked for occupants in your registered shelter.

You can go to the registration form here by clicking here.

It is recommended that you register your shelter as well as having an emergency kit in your shelter with you. You can find the registration form on the user menu on the left side of the homepage, however you must be a registered user on the website to access the registration system.

There are several vendors that provide some great options for disaster kits you can keep in your shelter with you also. A couple of our favorites are Life Secure and Quake Kare.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you previously registered your shelter with us using the paper form you mailed in, please take the time to re-register using the new system to insure that your information is up to date.
